Mission: The ACLU of the District of Columbia (ACLU-DC), with more than 8,500 local members, fights to protect and expand civil liberties and civil rights for people who live, work, and visit D.C., and in matters involving federal employees and agencies. Those who join us also become members of the National ACLU. ACLU-DC pursues its mission through legal action, legislative advocacy, and public education. In addition to representing clients in court, sometimes we work with government agencies to defend liberty without litigation. We also testify and lobby before the D.C. Council, and we educate the public through Know Your Rights trainings and materials, appearances on radio and television, social media activity, and meetings with community groups.

Mission: We are a rapid response creative production team, made up of comedy writers, comedians and activists, on call 24/7 to make videos, artistic memes and create national actions that respond instantly to the breaking news surrounding reproductive rights issues. We will within minutes, or hours, blast the perpetrators dispensing damaging information about abortion, crisis pregnancy centers, birth control as well as taking down those who shame and stigmatize women for wanting, having and demanding safe and healthy sex lives on their own terms. At Lady Parts Justice League, we vigilantly drop information about what’s at stake for reproductive access into pop culture spaces, AND we bring all the fun of pop culture back to reproductive health spaces to boost morale and provide aid and comfort. A crucial part of our mission is to support and raise awareness about independent abortion providers – clinics that bear the brunt of anti-abortion legislation and harassment.
We perform shows in community places to raise awareness about reproductive health while building relationships between clinics, advocates, and communities.

- Offering support wherever needed.
- Organizing evening events, parties, and fundraisers.
There are other ways to get involved as well; check out website for more information.

Mission: Based in Washington, DC, YWP programs engage under-resourced youth of color, ages 14-22, with a focus on teen women and youth in the foster care system. Youth staff and members are organized into two issue campaigns, driven by long-term-system-change-focused goals and chosen by youth. The Foster Care Campaign (FCC) builds the leadership and power of foster youth so that they can transform their own lives and improve the child welfare system. The Peer Health and Sexuality Education Project (PHASE) is a teen-adult partnership that works to improve DC teens’ reproductive health by expanding comprehensive sexuality education, ensuring access to community and school based reproductive health care, and engaging teen women and men as peer educators and decision makers on reproductive health issues.
